Although it is true that Sony, together with Mattel, are working with Masters of the Universe to take it to the movies, Netflix does not depart and does the same with its resources, preparing Masters of the Universe: Revelation and showing us, little by little, details of the new series.
What is Masters of the Universe: Revelation like?
Revelation will be the continuation of Masters of the Universe, as if we had paused for 45 years and pressed Play again, in theory. Of course, both characters and mythology remain.
Kevin Smith, who is its producer, will focus on giving depth to the plots that were not worked on at the time but that were started or seen glancingly.
For its part, it will be the animation studio that has given life to Netflix’s Castlevania series, which will do the same with this new title. Proof of this are the following images already revealed.
The producer has spoken to us at length about his involvement in the project, which has a very personal aspect to him (and to many of us, of course). “I saw the series, it was everywhere”, “These characters ended up becoming part of international popular culture”, “It’s a very classic epic adventure about power, magic …”. It is a production in which a very refreshing destination is created while the nostalgia of the oldest ones flourishes.
Deeper themes such as maturation and discovery, trust and betrayal, acceptance and even loss are also developed. Without a doubt, a masterful way to give us back a piece of history so that we can truly enjoy it in a wide age range.
The voice cast, in English, is quite important, with names like Alicia Silverstoe, Mark Hamill or Lena Heady.
But … do you know what is the best? That the series is much closer than we thought. We will be able to enjoy it from next July 23, the day on which 5 episodes will be broadcast.
